For lively Irish music and social dancing, most Sunday nights at Southmead Community Centre, 248 Greystoke Avenue, Southmead, Bristol BS10 6BQ, from 8 pm. (6 times a year, no class because we are running workshop/ ceili in Wotton under Edge on 2nd Sunday of month. Occasionally other Sundays may be cancelled - ring Sharon on 07745 376 499 to check)

Due to Coronavirus concerns, we are cancelling tomorrow night’s ceili, the Sunday evening classes at. Southmead Community Centre, Mondays at the Beehive, Parkinson’s set dancing classes and Wotton events, until further notice.
Sorry to be doing this, but we don’t want to put our dancers at risk, nor risk spreading the virus more quickly.

Bristol Set Dancing Weekend 2019

A weekend of ceilis and workshops in Bristol.  Starts on Friday evening, 10th May, with a "short sets"  ceili with the Perfect Cure ceili band. Shorter sets have been chosen for this ceili to enable those who wish to, to dance with more partners. The ceili starts at 8 pm but the bar will be open from 7.30.

On Saturday 11th of May, Gerard Butler, a highly acclaimed dance teacher from Ireland, will run set dancing workshops from 10.30 am to 1 pm, and from 2-4.30 pm.

Lunches will be available in the hall from 1pm (ploughman's / baked potatoes) at low cost. These are provided on a non profit basis by local volunteers.

In the evening (8 pm start) there will be another ceili with the very popular and accomplished Perfect Cure Ceili Band. Sets will be called throughout the weekend.

Sunday starts a little later with a jive workshop by Gerard Butler from 11.30 am to 1 pm.

Lunches will again be available in the hall.

The final ceili runs on Sunday afternoon from 2- 5.30 pm.

Weekends tickets are £40, or you can pay separately for each part attended - workshops  £6 each and ceilis £10.
There will be raffles on Saturday and Sunday, all the proceeds of which will go to Parkinson's UK.
